 Championing the enclosure of space to facilitate infinite freedom of movement through a public forum

The integration of the curving and rigid forms serve both structural and conceptual purposes in their synergy with the surrounding landscape. Structurally, the challenges posed by the environment are overcome by the structures arch whilst conceptually, the structures effectively shield one another from the pedestal on which the environment puts them

The circulation and public meeting place are strictly confined by rectilinear forms to emphasise the importance of circulation through this monumental communal space. Moreover, natural sunlight has been allowed in to overcome the difficulties presented by this enclosure

Week 3: Custom Textures Applied

LIGHT

Used predominantly to add significant form and shape to the curvilinear aspects of my building, this texture highlights the scale of the crane-like structural instrument

MEDIUM

By interfering only slightly with the white space beneath it, this texture offers a scale to the monument around it without overwhelming the confined area

 

 

 DARK

In conjunction with the irregularly shaped windows of the exterior, this texture serves to offer a privacy to those within the structure, shielding the view in by way of a pattern catalysing optical illusion
